AGF & GGL sponsor 2025 MLK Scholarship Celebration event

Greenville, South Carolina:  Alpha Phi Alpha Greenville Foundation (AGF) and Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity are excited to announce our 46th Anniversary Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Celebration on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12 PM to 2 PM. As in past years, we have decided to continue our hybrid event to include in-person and virtual options. The event will feature a Jazz luncheon for those in person with the Jamie Wright Experience. Doors will open at 11:30 AM.

The MLK Scholarship Celebration seeks to raise funds for the Foundation's efforts to support local youth in the Upstate of South Carolina. The Scholarship Celebration is the oldest celebration of MLK Day in Greenville, SC, with the first event held in 1977. It has been co-sponsored by Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Furman University since 2008. 

Our Martin Luther King Jr. Citizenship Award Winner selection. Last year's Award winner was Dr. Yvonne Duckett, Director of Greenville Country Human Relations Commission. The Honorable Representative Kambrell H. Garvin (Richland - District #77) will be our MLK Keynote Speaker.  We need your help to expand our programs to more youth in the upstate community.
