This annual golf tournament is a major fundraiser for the Luke H. Chatman Scholarship and has also supported the Alpha Greenville Foundation. It has been held since 1996, annually since 2003. It has been held at various local golf courses in the Greenville Area.
2018 RWAC Golf Outing
In 2018, this event took on a new format. The event will be a golf outing rather than a tournament. This year, it will feature access to one of the premier golf courses in the upstate, The Cliffs at Keowee Falls.
Past events have featured a round of Golf and a pre-golf meal at the Cliffs Clubhouse for $200-250 per person. This will include a donation to the Alpha Greenville Foundation.

We invite you to participate in our annual Robert W. Anderson, Jr. Golf Outing at the Preserve at Verdae Golf Course on May 31, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina. Check-in opens at 8:00 am with a Shotgun start at 9 AM ( Lunch will start at 1:00 PM. Drive range and chipping greens will be available to players early that morning.
This annual Golf Outing is a major fundraiser for the Luke H. Chatman Scholarship and has supported Several AGF Events (see below). It has been held since 1996, annually since 2003 (with a pause during the pandemic) at various local golf courses in the Greenville, SC, Area.
The Preserve is an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course designed by Willard Byrd, carved into a lush Carolina Forest with hills and mountain-like brooks. Near Haywood Mall With a stay at Embassy Suites Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center in Greenville, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Haywood Mall and Greenville Convention Center. This golf hotel is 6.2 mi (10.1 km) from Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital and 6.6 mi (10.6 km) from Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
There is a round of golf and a pre-golf meal at the Preserve at Verdae Golf Course for $200 per person (Early Registration is $150 until May 15th).

$200.00 Total payment plus credit/debit card fees (Early Register is $150, until 5.15)
All monies must be received by Friday, May 24, 2025 (12 AM)
* A receipt for this amount will indicate the contribution to the 501c3 Alpha Phi Alpha Greenville Foundation.

About Robert W. Anderson, Jr :
About Robert W. Anderson, Jr :
Dr. Robert W. Anderson, Jr. graduated from South Carolina State College (University) and North Carolina Central College (University) School of Law. He did further study at Cornell University, the University of North Carolina, St. Louis University, and Atlanta University. He served as the first African-American Farm Agent for Greenville County and the first African-American Director of The Community Action Program in Greenville, now known as S.H.A.R.E.
He was a co-founder, Charter Member, and first President of Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. While serving as president, Dr. Anderson was instrumental in providing the upstate with many cultural, civic, and educational affairs, including but not limited to presenting Greenville County to the world-renowned Opera singer Marian Anderson.
